Voyeza is operated by an individual developer based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
This policy complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using Voyeza you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Minimum Age Requirement
Voyeza is intended for users aged 16 and older in compliance with the Online Safety Amendment (Social Media Minimum Age) Act 2024 (Cth).
By creating an account you confirm you are at least 16 years old. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will immediately delete their account and all associated data.
3. Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, display name, username, profile photo
- Content you create: photos, videos, captions, location tags you choose to add
- Usage data: features you use, posts you interact with, app performance data
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version
- Location: only when you choose to tag a location on a post. We do not track your background location at any time.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To display your content to other users according to your privacy settings
- To personalise your feed and recommendations
- To send notifications you have opted into
- To improve the app based on usage patterns
- To investigate and respond to reports of harmful content
5. Overseas Data Storage
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers located in Iowa, United States (us-central1 region). By using Voyeza you consent to your personal information being stored and processed in the United States.
Google LLC implements internationally recognised security standards including encryption in transit and at rest. While we cannot guarantee that overseas recipients comply with Australian privacy law, Google maintains data protection standards consistent with international best practice.
6. Information Sharing
- Public posts are visible to all Voyeza users worldwide
- Private account posts are visible only to your approved followers
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties
- We do not currently share data with advertisers
- We may disclose information if required by Australian law, court order, or law enforcement
- We may disclose information to the eSafety Commissioner if required under the Online Safety Act 2021 (Cth)
7. Online Safety & Reporting
Voyeza complies with the Online Safety Act 2021 (Cth) and the requirements of the eSafety Commissioner.
- You can report any post, comment, or profile using the built-in report button
- We will respond to valid removal requests within 24 hours
- We will comply with notices from the eSafety Commissioner
- We prohibit content depicting violence, abuse, harassment, image-based abuse, or any illegal material
- Violations result in content removal and/or permanent account suspension
8. Your Rights Under Australian Privacy Law
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Delete Account)
- Opt out of notifications at any time via device settings
- Make a privacy complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au
9. Notifiable Data Breaches
In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to users, we will:
- Notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme
- Notify affected users as soon as practicable
- Take immediate steps to contain and remedy the breach
10. Data Retention
We retain your personal information while your account is active. When you delete your account, all your data — including posts, passport stamps, messages, and profile information — is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
Some information may be retained for longer if required by law or for legitimate safety purposes (such as records of reported harmful content).
11. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Your account is protected by password authentication. We recommend using a strong, unique password.
No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Your continued use of Voyeza after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
